About Me

Hello and Welcome to my Wanderful Life!

My name is Samantha Clarke, but you can just call me Sam. I was born and raised in Mississauga however I now call Huntsville, Ontario my Canadian home. In April of 2013, I graduated from the University of Western Ontario and am eager to take on the next stage of my life.

My undeniable passion for travelling and exploring the world sparked from an academic exchange program I participated in during my 3rd year of university. I had the opportunity of completing a semester of my degree in Melbourne, Australia and I truly believe I learned more about myself in those six-months than I have in my entire life.

Conquering my fear of heights in the Grampian Mountains, Australia.

Throughout my various travels, I discovered the word Wanderlust. Wanderlust is a strong desire or impulse to travel the world.

Wanderlust is not just a word to me; it is how I like to be defined (wanderlustful). It resonates within me so much that I got it tattooed on my left foot. I initially chose to get this tattoo as a constant reminder that travelling and going out of my comfort zone was important to me, however I now know that forgetting is not an option. Travel is my passion and I can’t wait to make my passion a career.

I have had the opportunity to share in on various different travelling experience. For as long as I can remember, my family has vacationed in various destinations in the USA (Florida, California & South Carolina). When I got older, I chose to participate in various academically focused travel experiences (Australia, Cuba & Italy) as well as independent adventure travel opportunities (BC, Alberta & Asia). Any chance to get on a plane and go I’m there. No questions asked. In recent years I have discovered a new world of travelling that I am extremely interested to further explore. I love working with students as a trip leader and I hope to keep inspiring youths to include travel into their academic careers and lives.

In March of 2013, I entered a contest put on through a partnership between Tourism Australia and CampusPerks to raise awareness on the Best Jobs in the World campaign. Due to my social media support and ability to drive attention to tourism in Australia, I placed 1st against hundreds of other applicants and have received the title of Tourism Australia’s Travel Blogger. In June 2013, I returned from 3 amazing weeks covering the contest and you can check out what I got up to by follow my many links. Click Here –> Best Jobs in the World! It was the most unique and exciting experience I have ever participated in and I hope you enjoy reading about what the finalists, winners and myself got up to.

Jumping for joy about Australia!

I am always on the go and I hope you keep checking back with what I am up to next! After returning from Australia in June 2013, I didn’t stop moving. Days after returning from Australia I was headed to Boston, Washington D.C and New Jersey for another 3 weeks to staff a community service trip with Westcoast Connection/360 Student travel! Within days of returning from the United States I was already on to planning my next adventure… back to Australia!

When I return to Australia in October 2013, I have had the ultimate pleasure of working at Peterpans Adventure Travel and Backpackers World Travel as an Adventure Travel Specialist and Social Media Coordinator. Peterpans/BWT are adventure travel companies focusing around servicing the backpacker, student and young at heart traveller. I spent my first 6 months in Australia in Sydney, the following 11 months in Byron Bay, and another 2 1/2 years in the most ‘livable city’ in the world, Melbourne.

In late 2017, I returned back to Canada after nearly 4 years being overseas. Shortly after my return I found myself working at Kensington Tours in the heart of Toronto. Kensington Tours is a luxury travel company specializing in privately guided travel experiences. After 4 years working in the youth/adventure travel space in Australia – I found it difficult to relate to this style of travel as it was not something I would be passionate about doing myself at this stage in my life.

Thanks to a couple connections from back in Australia, I was able to land myself an amazing opportunity with a dream company – The Intrepid Group. Since then, I have been able to continue to share my passion of meaningful, life-changing travel with the rest of the world!

My ultimate dream in life is to thoroughly explore all 7 continents and share my experiences with my family, friends and followers. If you wish to follow my adventures please do and don’t hesitate to contact me about anything!

Cheers!

Sam Clarke
